The short answer

A discount only represents value when the putter is genuine, fits you and has no problematic alterations. Verify the exact build in writing.

An “outlet” label does not describe a single official L.A.B. Golf product category. Discounted listings may be used, ex-display, older stock or customised clubs, so assess the seller and exact putter rather than assuming a factory outlet.

Confirm identity

Match the engraving and head shape to the manufacturer’s model information. Ask for clear photographs of the face, sole, shaft and grip. A branded headcover is an accessory, not proof of authenticity.

Confirm the specification

Request measured playing length, handedness and any known lie-angle documentation. Ask whether the shaft was cut or replaced, the grip changed, or the head altered. Custom colours and alignment marks do not reveal the rest of the build.

Inspect condition

  • Look for face damage that may affect contact.
  • Check the shaft for bends, dents or poor installation.
  • Check grip security and wear.
  • Understand what is included and the return terms.

Compare cost with fit

A low price can disappear if the club needs uncertain alterations. Have your target specification established first through putter fitting or the maker’s remote process. For help measuring a candidate or discussing regripping and length work, contact Fix It Golf.

Price the unknowns

Consider two used putters: one has cosmetic sole marks but a documented fitted specification; the other looks pristine but has no confirmed lie angle and a recently changed shaft. For a fitted buyer, the visibly worn club may carry less practical risk. Cosmetic condition, structural condition and specification are separate questions. Budget for any suitable grip or length work only after a technician checks the club. Read the putter refurbishment guide for condition decisions and the MEZZ ownership guide before altering that family.

Decision checkpoint: Ask for measurements before travelling or paying a deposit. A clear answer can screen out an unsuitable club early; a vague answer signals that an in-person check carries more value.
