MEZZ.1 ownership guide: care, checks and adjustments

A MEZZ.1 needs straightforward care, but changes to length, lie, shaft or grip deserve more thought because they can alter setup and the way the finished putter is balanced.

After each round

Wipe the face and sole with a soft damp cloth, then dry them. Replace the headcover before the putter moves around the bag. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals that may mark finishes.

Monitor the build

Check that the grip has not twisted or loosened and that the shaft shows no damage. If the club begins to sit differently, measure it rather than assuming technique is responsible. Keep the original order specification if available.

Before an adjustment

L.A.B. Golf lists MEZZ.1 among its self-balancing designs. Cutting, extending, bending, reshafting or changing grip can affect playing position and overall configuration. Ask a club technician to identify the existing build and likely consequences before work begins.

When buying replacement parts

Example: a grip replacement

If a grip becomes slick, decide whether you want the existing feel restored or a different hand position. Those are different briefs. Record the grip model and orientation before asking about a replacement. If a different grip is proposed, discuss its weight and geometry as well as texture, and check how the complete putter sits afterwards.

A shaft change, cut-down or lie adjustment deserves a check of the whole balanced build. Keep the original specification and ask about manufacturer guidance before altering it.
