The short answer

A useful L.A.B. fitting produces a documented build and repeatable evidence. Bring your current putter and describe your normal misses honestly.

A L.A.B. Golf putter fitting should establish a comfortable length and lie angle, then test the complete putter under repeatable conditions. It is a measurement and comparison process, not a search for a model that fixes every stroke.

Before the session

Bring your current putter and the ball you normally play. Note any recurring aim, strike or pace pattern. Avoid changing your technique immediately before the fitting. L.A.B. Golf’s remote fitting instructions similarly use a video of the golfer’s normal stroke plus putter measurements.

Establish length and lie

These dimensions interact. Length influences posture and hand height; lie affects how the head sits at address. The goal is a natural, repeatable setup, not forcing the player into an arbitrary textbook position.

Compare complete builds

Head shape, grip, shaft, alignment mark and weighting all affect perception and feedback. Use short putts to examine aim and start direction, mid-range putts for strike, and long putts for pace. Alternate candidates so practice and changing green speed do not favour the final club.

Leave with the details

Record model, handedness, playing length, lie angle, grip, shaft and alignment choice. If buying used, compare those measurements with the fitted specification. Fix It Golf offers putter fitting and can help measure an existing club; contact Fix It Golf to discuss the next step.

An example fitting sequence

A golfer who repeatedly aims left should not immediately be moved into a different lie angle. First record aim with the existing club, then check posture, sole position and strike. Test one suitable L.A.B. specification in two head shapes while keeping length and lie constant. If aim changes with the head but posture stays comfortable, the sight picture is informative; if posture changes, refit the dimensions first. Prepare with the club-fitting checklist, then compare this brand-specific process with the aim, strike and pace checks.
