The short answer

A used 60 X can only be judged from the actual component. Get detailed evidence and allow for professional inspection before installation.

A used AXS Blue 60 X should be bought from evidence about the actual component, not a generic performance description. Its condition and preparation history may matter more than the decal.

Request a useful listing

  • Full-length photographs in clear light.
  • Close-ups of all graphics, butt code, tip and adapter.
  • Measured raw length or playing length in the former club.
  • The previous head, grip and any known extension or tipping.

Inspect carbon condition

Reject or professionally assess visible splits, crushed fibres, deep scoring and questionable tip preparation. Cosmetic wear is different from structural damage, but photographs cannot always settle the distinction.

Price the whole conversion

An incompatible adapter, insufficient remaining length or damaged tip can turn an apparent bargain into an unusable purchase. Confirm the target head and build before money changes hands.

Ask for measurements that affect value

A tape measure should show end-to-end shaft length, with separate information for the former club’s playing length. Ask whether the adapter is included and which exact head it fits. A grip can conceal a butt extension, so request its history rather than assuming the shaft is unaltered.

Set a purchase condition

Make the transaction conditional on identity and compatibility when possible. If either cannot be resolved, value it as an uncertain component rather than a ready-to-install shaft. The 60 X fitting guide covers the next stage; the RXR 55 guide shows the same evidence-first approach for another label.

Allow for inspection limits

Clear photographs can reveal obvious damage, but they cannot prove internal condition or previous overheating. If the transaction value depends on safe reuse, arrange an in-person professional assessment and accept that some uncertainty may remain.

Use current information carefully

The current LA Golf range does not verify this legacy model’s specifications. Fix It Golf can assess fitting and installation through club repair and reshafting services.
